Letters for my Children to read

This blog is for my children to read in order to understand how I feel, even if I don't have a chance to share it with them because of the divorce and the fact that we do not live in the same house. When they are older I plan on sharing the fact that this blog is for them. I do not plan on using any details that would identify them.

I just wanted to take my kids out for Sunday breakfast

My youngest son called to have me pick me up from his friends house and on the way I got a text from my oldest son (who had called me earlier in the morning to say he was stuck in a public parking lot and had no money to pay the parking lot fee, which ended up being $1.40 and he wrote a check to some white guy who didn't trust him..)

With two children in the car, we called the third son (who was hanging out with some girls the night before) and decided to meet at Perkins and much to my surprise the parking lot was full, but I was able to get a right in the front parking space so things were looking good. Once we got in the restaurant it was clear there were too many people waiting and it was going to be an hour wait at the least. So we called my son and said "meet us at IHOP" which wasn't that far away and we could not find parking and before we had to leave the parking lot, my son was dropped off.

We tried (only as a last resort...) Denny's, but the parking lot was full and probably a forty minute wait, but still too long.

So we decided to make breakfast at home. We drove to the grocery store (I think it was probably the first time grocery shopping together in 10 years...) found the eggs, tortillas, bacon, cheese, hash browns, chorizo... but as we approached home we remembered we forgot the orange juice, milk and bread. I picked up my daughter from her friends house and we have every kid and food and a family breakfast.

Except no one knew that Mom was coming home at the very moment and before we had a chance to cook the bacon she showed up with groceries and a not too happy face and I quickly left.

But I should have probably cooked breakfast at home, and not invited the children to breakfast and made things easier...

But I never do...
