Letters for my Children to read

This blog is for my children to read in order to understand how I feel, even if I don't have a chance to share it with them because of the divorce and the fact that we do not live in the same house. When they are older I plan on sharing the fact that this blog is for them. I do not plan on using any details that would identify them.

Dealing with the death of someone you knew

Our former neighbor spent the last several weeks of her life in your mom's home. She had lost a lot of weight, but was still feisty, nosy and opinionated. She cooked you breakfast, answered the phone and spent time at the house. I mentioned a week ago, that "you know she is getting ready to die" and you both answered "yes", but it was not clear you fully understood it...

She died yesterday and you were both a little quieter then usual when I came to pick you up for school. Death has a way to make you appreciate life a little more, and have a healthy fear of death.
