Letters for my Children to read

This blog is for my children to read in order to understand how I feel, even if I don't have a chance to share it with them because of the divorce and the fact that we do not live in the same house. When they are older I plan on sharing the fact that this blog is for them. I do not plan on using any details that would identify them.

Lessons you learned your first time away from home in a dorm

1. Listen to your mom.
2. Even with a roommate watching your stuff, it is better to have a lock on your valuables.
3. Chips and soda makes it easier to find friends in the dormitory.
4. Dorms are boring.
5. Going to summer school, during the summer is sometimes worse then going to school in the fall.
6. You are learning things, you were unaware you could learn about yourself.
7. College is less then three years away.
8. Not living at home has it's advantages.
9. It pays to have a cell phone.
10. Having a roommate you know, does not make it easier, sometimes... but sometimes it does, if you are lucky.
11. Your roommate is almost like your brothers, except they really don't want you to fight all the time
