Father's Day gift 2009

My youngest son Javier said as I dropped him off at his Pre-College Program dormitory that he was giving me his best Father's Day gift ever, three weeks without having to see him, feed him, take him somewhere or be nice to him.

Now I sort of understood his logic, for scarcely a day goes by without hearing from one of my four children asking for a ride, money or helping them get out of a predicament.

But one day without hearing from my children pains me to no end...

so I never call them except to wake them up and the morning and to remind them to come outside because I am waiting...

if I called them for any other reason, they would think i was lonely and had no friends...and maybe feel sorry for me and I could not let that happen.
