Letters for my Children to read

This blog is for my children to read in order to understand how I feel, even if I don't have a chance to share it with them because of the divorce and the fact that we do not live in the same house. When they are older I plan on sharing the fact that this blog is for them. I do not plan on using any details that would identify them.

You told your younger brother to get involved in school actvitiies

and he mentioned it to me. I told him high school is the last great opportunity to try new experiences with little or no risk involved. He even mentioned possibly wrestling in high school again.

Later that week, as I was driving to pick him up from his high school soccer practice, I saw you walking on campus with two friends and I called you to see what was up and you said you were on your way to tryouts for a hip hop dance troupe.

Whether you make the squad or not...it is nice to hear your are "trying" and maybe all those Virgina Davis dance classes I paid for when your were younger will finally pay off.

We had lunch today

You have been in college for several weeks now and you asked me to take you out for lunch.

We ate at your favorite mexican restaurant, and we went to the grocery store to get some snacks and drinks for your dorm room.

We talked about many things, how to talk with your mom, handling your brothers half-decision to move into your room, now that you are gone, living with a roommate and coping with the pressures of school and life.

I am proud of your efforts to make it this far and can see you are thinking about your next steps in your career
